There are those of us who can afford to stock our closets by relying on the deep discounts at Nordstrom Rack or super-cheap deals at everyone’s favorite nordic clothier, H&M. (I’m looking at, um, ME right now).
Then there are the others; those who comprise the wily 1% — dropping tens of thousands of bucks for their seasonal wardrobe upgrade, never blinking at a Louboutin price tag, dragging around personal shoppers. I’m sure you know the type. Perhaps you (and your lucky wallet!) ARE the type.
If that’s the case, or if you simply enjoy ogling the very rich goods of luxury designers, Miami’s Design District has got your well-toned back. Fashion-forward locals and visitors no longer flock to Bal Harbour’s tony stores. Today, the see-and-be-seen set with loosened purse strings head to the ultra-chic Design District. Here they can tweak their wardrobe at exclusive boutiques, and meander through the neighborhood’s original trend-setting stores: enclaves of design and art.
This once up-and-coming ‘hood has now, officially arrived. Along with its reputation as the city’s premier upscale shopping destination, the Design District also lays claim to some fine-tasting restaurants and an uber-cool vibe (it is, after all, neighbors with the hipster haven, Wynwood).
Here’s a quick glimpse at some of our favorite stores:
- Emilio Pucci
- Ermenegildo Zegna
- Louis Vuitton
- Christian Louboutin
